Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2

If you want to play, avoid to update Windows 11 to 24H2.
It makes your game unplayable and always freezing. By my research, It's known issue from first game as well. We have to wait a patch from GGG.

If you updated your system 24H2 while using older version, you can roll back to previous version to avoid this problem.

Settings -> System -> Recovery -> Go Back -> Go on after the window is open

Your system will be restart and rolled back to older version without your files are affected. You have to reinstall your softwares, such as NVIDIA Driver.

What FUD. Running 24H2 no problem.

I experienced the same stuttering issues, tried rolling back and that fixed it entirely. Unsure about the connection between the update and the stuttering though

24H2 Indeed cause some hardware (AMD x3D and other) to freeze. This is not affecting everyone but many users:

Here is POE 2 official forum having this issue:
https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3594126/page/24

Temporary solution loading screen freeze if you cant go back to 23H2:
Use BES (Battle Encoder Shirasé) Following a suggestion, I’m using BES to limit POE 2's CPU usage to 95%. Download link: https://mion.yosei.fi/BES/ So far, I’ve tested it by teleporting across several waypoints, and I haven’t experienced any freezes. It seems to effectively prevent the CPU from maxing out at 100% during loading screens.

GPD WIN MAX 2 64gb Ryzen 7 8840u amd 780m here im having problem it so lag i think it related to AMD not server or anything ....AMD machine need to update

Yeah my game keeps going into a complete freeze fest its very annoying. Then my controller disconnected which causes the entire game to crash for some reason. EVERY SINGLE TIME your controller disconnects game crash. Also I have a Intel 12700K/4080 super so can't be a AMD thing that is a lie. freeze freeze freeze stutter stutter stutter...

I will say I noticed nvidia gpu's have been stuttering way more in recent released games. Maybe its just a Nvidia / Intel thing Idk but its annoying.
Stalker 2 stutter fest, Wukong Stutter fest, Indiana jones stutter fest... POE 2 stutter fest...

There is a known issue between the 24H2 update and many AMD CPU's. The issue is the Windows scheduler.

1. You can either roll back to the 23H2 release.

or

2. Set your Maximum Processor State setting to less than 100%.
('Control Panel' -> 'Hardware and Sound' -> 'Power Options' -> 'Change Plan Settings' -> 'Change advanced power settings' -> 'Processor Power Management')

I'm hoping option 2 helps. I was going to reinstall windows because it won't let me rollback. I before that windows update, I was fine.

Same, it has to be a combination of factors, because Windows 11 ain't it. I'm running a 7800x3d, and a rtx 4070 ti super with the update installed.

The problem with 24H2 is that it is unstable. Some hardware profiles will be perfectly fine while others will have constant issues. Your milage will vary. You have been warned. Take that warning seriously.

Those that say "Not true, no effects here and running 24H2." Good job, you won the hardware lottery.

yes xBullet is right. even in official Poe forum and in the steam page recommending windows 10.

there's a reason for that as well a lot of games stated windows 10,

while a few wins10/ OR windows 11.
