It's a bit of a ♥♥♥♥ show cause they lowered the drop rates but forgot that at the beginning of the game you REALLY need them.
This coincides with a lot of play testers and streamers opinions of early game and some of the class difficulties in the early stages. They were 100% correct.
ruthless 2.0 (no loot).
darksouls 4, not poe2.
dont like wasd, dont like mouseplay (walks into monsters), dont like rolling prefer dodging, have to roll tho.
slow gameplay, boring gameplay, unbalanced classes, some are terrible, some are good, heard mixed stuff. (friend already rerolled) (i already try for a refund).
some things were improved, some were made worse, mixed bag.
i hate it tho. i'll see in summer 2025 whether its good, doubt they'll fix their stuff soon.
Excessive difficulty will drive away a lot of people.
Shared loot means partying up is strongly discouraged. Who wants to fight a boss for 10 min and then have loot taken by someone else.
Limited healing and bosses with 1-shot mechanics means lots of frustrated dying.
People suffering memory-leaks and crashes a lot
Toxic-as-♥♥♥♥ community, global is 90% whining and people talking if it's better or worse than D4.
I'd say it's worth the price........if you wait until it's Free.
I dislike the changes that have killed a lot of build diversity
Dislike that you can only use one of each support gem total even on separate skills
Where are all the movement skills? Maps are huge and if you have to backtrack it takes forever.
Minion build felt really strong then hit a wall where there is basically no progress for me, waiting on gaining more spirit which seems to be given out by quests? Odd.
dislikes:
*not a fan of the limitation with support gems. seems a poor decision from a development standpoint since it'll just bottleneck builds, forcing them to more less resemble one another.
*some support skills don't seem to do anything (overpower)
*gender locked means I will only ever play half the classes
*seems like melee classes are underwhelming while ranged/magic seem OP, especially against bosses
*not a fan of the antiquated act1-4 nonsense
likes:
*I enjoy how seamless it is for each class to choose a different build type. seems especially true with the gemling legionnaire.
*combat seems more impactful
*graphics are nice
*VA, story is compelling
*skill appearances
*uniqueness of appearance of skills
*build variety
*complex skill tree
*lots of content
*$30 for a game i'll likely drop hundreds of hours into represents a sound fiscal investment
1. Agree with loot. Feel misled by devs saying you can live off the land with drops. My Warrior was getting so many twig circlets.. if it wasnt for Marksman coop'ing with me Id still be wearing NOTHING but a helmet....
2. Boss fights can be unfair; clearly not designed for all char classes. Case and point Lachlann. Im basically going to have to distract/tank it for Mercenary to plink it down, because (1) I have a ♥♥♥♥ for dmg 1h (thx drops) and (2) I cant swing for more than 2s before he turns me into a tree stump. Warrior is SLOOOW, like Chronomage cursing him from the netherworld or something. Side/angle block on shield though is quite welcome, Thxxxx
Other thoughts: World/Graphics/Music/Design/Voice Acting/Story all TOP CROP. Just Garbo class feel atm. Bosses either need to be redesigned for all classes *SOLO* (this way they can be coop'd as well!) or I dunno; give Warrior a Red Bull lol. (or more dmg + mitigate!!) I went all Str in his tree and still hit like a wet noodle (outside of slam skill; abuse the living F out of that....
