Hows the monk?
Different games have different niches, and that is fine.
For instance, Diablo IV is not this hard. That is good for both Diablo IV, and PoE 2. It gives them individual niches.
Wanting a hard game which is hard by design to be easy instead is like wanting Dark Souls to be easy. Part of its identity is that it is difficult. Not every game needs to cater to every audience. It's better to try to develop a taste for what it is, than try to season it into something it isn't.
It isn't about elitism. It's about creating space for different kinds of games to exist. If you want an easy game, the competitors in this genre are exactly what you want. They're huge. D4 is very good.
This one, the first mission to kill the damn maw lol. Difficulty of quest bosses skyrocketed. I literally had to use necro moves on my sorceror to kite the dang boss and his endless minions.
Going into the graveyard now and there is an endless horde of shielded undead with giant aoe necros doing tornadoes for 2 screens away.
I think the other part of this that makes it harder is the scaling. You could triple your damage output with just a simple drop or support gem in the early game previously. It feels, no matter what, you are incrementally getting stronger. Almost like all your scaling is from the passive tree alone. Its pretty wild
