Network spikes?
Anyone else getting network spikes? I can run other games just fine for pvp and stuff but on poe2 my network constantly jumps from 28ms to like 150ms+ making the game nearly impossible to play. It's nothing to do with graphics as I have well above the recommended pc specs

Anyone having issues with the game jittering, stuttering, whatever you may call it, that are seeing the "network" performance metric spike every time this occurs I highly recommend the looking at the following links for information on the nature of the problem. They were written in regards to poe1 but are still relevant to this game.

https://pathofexile.fandom.com/wiki/Networking_mode

It seems to me the root of the issue is they implemented the networking options but failed to make them visible in game. If you follow the steps below you can mess with your networking mode and it may resolve the issue.
In poe2 there are three options that I'm aware of "auto" which is default, "lockstep" and "predictive".

If you go into Options->Game and click the folder icon next to "Item FIlter"
It will open the folder that contains your configuration settings.

After this folder opens close the game client. You need to restart the game for changes made directly to this file to take effect.

Open "poe2_production_Config.ini" .ini may not be visible depending on your system settings.
You can open ini files with any word processing program, notepad++ is a solid choice.
Within this file about a 4th the way from the top of the page you'll find the following:

[NETWORKING]
networking_type=auto

where the word auto is present, change it to either predictive or lockstep.
examples for those intimidated by manually editing settings like this.

networking_type=predictive
networking_type=lockstep

For the best idea on what might work best for you I'd consult the wiki page, or just experiment and see what performs the best. Hopefully like me this fixes a lot of players problems with this issue. I can't remember the name but huge shout out to the member of the PoE forums that recommended this solution on a similar thread found there.
Don't forget to save the ini file and restart the client everytime you change this setting.

Appreciate the effort, but neither of those settings tweaks worked to reduce or stop latency spikes for me. Seems like RNG, with some days good, and some days bad... It's to the point where I'm frequently pausing the game when lagspikes hit in dicey situations

MAKE IT OFFLINE with transactions online or game will die.

I have tried just about everything. No fixes for me on my end. Not a PC issue.

Just got to act 3 and having crazy networks spikes. Unplayable right now. If I go back to act 2, no network spikes. As soon as I teleport to act 3, network spikes are back.

update: Went away on it's own. Not a network issue on my end, running fiber.

Same issue! 20ms-500ms. i tryed a lot of different things nothing works for me also i am dissapointed because the game is huge and i want to spend my time playing it not trying to fix problems also the vast mojority doesnt have those kind of problems so i really dont know if we should do something on our settings but from my reseach on forums i end up finding out that nothing will work permanently and the spikes will return

Had several huge lag bubbles since the latest patch. Did not notice the issue before the patch, if that helps.
