I cant attack while using a controller?

I plugged in both an Xbox and PS5 controller and on both I cant attack. I hit X/Square and the hit icon lights up but no attack comes out.

how the heck do you do that. Why would I have to do that when its telling me to just hit X.
This has got to be a bug. It says "Basic Bolt" it doesnt need ammo.

This has got to be a bug.

Had the same issue as the merc dude. Look at your skills. One is RELOAD the other is BASIC ATTACK or something similar. This was the issue I had. The game defaulted the reloading to the X button which looks like it's working but since you're not attacking you basically stand there getting beaten by the one mob. Press your options button and take a look at your skills then bind them to the hotbar. Worked for me w/a wired Xbox controller.

Yeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhh. It was SO annoying that it seemed like it was an actual issue but it was really just weird wording on the skill and a mix up when it auto bound so I know the feeling when it wasn't working for sure. Glad it's all set for ya now.

If you see anyone else having similar issues let em know or direct em here. Hopefully it will get patched. Have fun!

Yes finally thank you!! I would have never figured it out without the video. Its ridiculous this was not caught at all during any of the testing. If the dumb prompt says press x to attack and nothing happens what do the devs think people are going to do at that point.
