Cannot shoot. I see the icon moving but no bullets... how?

I figured it out today. The icon you see is the standard ammunition icon (ammo, not shooting action), you have to bind the basic shooting action to a key, you will find it in the skill/gems tab.
Dont forget, that the basic shoot action has a cross-hair to identify it, this is important because once you equip another ammo/skill type (another gem) that basic shoot action will change to the image of the ammo type you choose, the cross hair is there to let you know the key to actually fire the crossbow.
So long story short:
1-Go to gem/skill tab and bind the basic shooting action to a key (identified with a cross-hair)
2-Bind all the ammo type/gems you find to a key, and cycle through it by pressing the respective bind key
3- "i cant choose basic ammo" dont forget that basic ammo is also a skill/ammo type that requires a key binding
4-All shooting is done by pressing the basic shooting action, ammo bonded keys are just to change the ammo/skill type

At the beginning you just one have one arrow type that should be mapped to X (or the square button if you play with a PS controller) then you shoot with RB (or R1)

Afterwards you will gain another arrow types (e.g. multiple arrows) you will mapp those to another button (e.g. RT/R2) then you willl switch from the normal arrow type by pressing X or RT/R2, then always shoot with RB/R1
