if you download the game client from GGG you can log into the game instantly, and wait for the que to start, you dont have to unpack, on steam , saved you 3-4 hours of que time if you have slow internet

20.00, you can just download the client on GGG and sit in the login menu ready to press login

err except the devs have already said they will be deploying multiple patches right up until release meaning you will be sat in that q for no reason.. as the patches will invalidate the q you are sat in.

Steam client is encrypted and takes up to 1hour+ to unpack depending on your toaster.

And every minute of delay = +few hundreds position in queue I suppose, up hours of waiting potentially GGG isn't swimming in money to buy gazillion spare servers - after their profit was cannibalized by Diablo 4 release (40% loss in 2023)

The patch will happen at after the countdown launch meaning you arnt getting ahead of anyone and would still have to close the clinet which would require a restart from the patch anyways when the clock hits 0
