Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2

Are we witnessing gaming History?
So it's pretty common knowledge that PoE2 has insane amount of hype on it's back. To a point that it's actually pretty scary. I'm sure some people will have their expectations ruined.

But it seems like GGG is going to be, like Fromsoft and Larian, in terms of quality and scope, if PoE2 will be success that is.
And it also seems that PoE2 is doing what Elden Ring did, which made ''Souls-games'' mainstream. PoE is making Arpg's as mainstreams.
Even Exile-like Diablo 4 will get some love, since there will be people trying other Arpg's after this one.

I won't be playing as I'm broke, so watching it is for me.
Wanted to ask do you Agree? Are we in historic times for the genre and GGG potential?

No, it's just a videogame. Trivial entertainment isn't part of history.

Its about time, even the diablo shills are waiting for this game.

what does that say about the once ARPG giant.

depends on the launch experience

It's the turn in history when "Diablo-like" games are being called "PoE-like." Blizzard gave up it's identity, no one knows the pronouns yet.

Jonathan Rogers already said in many of the interviews that this launch will be messy, sucks but that is how day one launches go.

Historic meltdown from players whinging about paying for a F2P game and not being able to get in for a week, maybe.
Overeagerdragon Dec 6, 2024 @ 6:18am
how new are you to ARPG's exactly? Not trying to offend but Diablo 1 made ARPGS mainstream way before POE1 was even a thing... back when bliz actually had love for their games...

Lateron games like Grim Dawn and Titanquest proved they could do the diablo (2) formula way WAY better than bliz could... then came POE1...

POE2 won't make history; despite of the amount of hype around it

I have no doubt it'll be a good game... don't get me wrong
But it won't mean I'll won't buy TTQ2 next year too

No, it is, you're just a little slow.

Lots and lots of d4 players will probably quit day one. Look at how many people reach maps in PoE leagues, not even half the players who show up at leaguestart.

Unironically writing that on a spiritual successor of Diablo forums
The Satanic Panic, big deal in modern history and religious development
