Steam linking to POE2

I bought the steam support pack, preloaded the software. I just now created a POE2 account and linked them, but on the POE2 webpage it mentions that my account does not have an early access key.

Same as with POE1. Your Steam account is your POE2 account, you don't need to link anything or use any key if you plan to play on Steam. Just launch game on Steam when it's released and press login. The key is for using to login on website with your Steam account and linking to their standalone launcher. If you created a POE2 account on website, it's redundant since your account already exists.

Doesn't matter. Buying through steam authorizes that through steam itself. You'll be granted early access on steam's end and will be able to preload immediately. Come time for the servers to go live, it'll unpack the game and you'll be good to go. It'll also show your early access DLC content being installed along with the pre-load.

The game's website also has separate log-ins for the standalone PC client, the Steam client, Epic games client, the playstation client and xbox client. If you play on multiple platforms there is a way to merge your accounts together (sort of), as Path of Exile 2 will be cross play and have cross progression, with the exception being cosmetic purchases obtained on one platform will only appear on that platform when playing. IE: You can merge your PC and PS4/PS5 accounts together, but say cosmetics bought in POE1 on PSN will not carry over to the Steam version, and will have to wait for POE2 to release on PS5 to get those.

It may also take several minutes for the data on the website to update with any purchase info from steam. Took 2 hours for my coins to appear on the POE website after buying through steam, since steam is a middle man here and there's that whole handshake process with the steam transactional servers and the developers transactional servers that has to be done, and it's often delayed in situations of the kind. (Anything where steam is a middle man)

Trying to log in to the game via steam but I get an error message saying i need to link it. So you do in fact need to link on the official site apparently

I went to the site yesterday and linked it but it still thinks I do not have a key on their website. Today when I was able to login it wanted me to link it again.

I can't connect, it tells me that I don't have access to the game, can you anticipate an answer?

The poe 2 website is down and cant link steam to my account on po2 website and cant log in play :( this is just soo bad when you are waiting 4.5 hours for the server is up and ready for play

Unless of course you made an account via their website long ago. In that case you're f**ked. And their website is down too. Why would you disable your website in a crucial moment like this?

It's CRAZY that they disabled their website during launch. Absolutely crazy.
