Hardcore Mode = Ironman Mode?!
Hello POE 2 Community,
what is the real sense behind the Hardcore Mode, if your character just will be transformed to a softcore mode and you can continue to play with it?
There seems to be no real consequence in dying?
Can someone explain it for me?
I would love to have a real Ironman Mode, where you cant continue playing with your character, even if it makes no sense in the POE World. I like the thrill and tension in ironman modes.

Well, you lose the prestige of not being in HC league anymore.

Afaik this is a relic from the cosmetics system, you might lose paid cosmetics (specifically skin transfers) otherwise, which should really not be the case.

Your items in your stashes are gone, because they stay in HC, but technically you can "rip" them, too.

In the current game, without leagues, dying in hardcore really isnt that punishing, but in leagues you don't rip to "league softcore" you go to "standard softcore". That's basically like never playing the character again.

Standard is where everything goes after a league/season is over.

Indeed.

HC is really just a 'status' tag, much as SSF doesn't really do much, other than not allow trading and show that the char has found everything they have.

Once you remove the HC flag from a char, then, it's up to the player to decide whether to keep it or not.

The reason behind this is that we dont have leagues yet, if you would die during a league you would be moved to standard.

Ok, thank you all. I guess I understand it now better. Nevertheless I will enjoy to play it :)
