What happens after you have downloaded the Preload from Steam ?

I will go now and just wondering if after the Preload something else boots up like their seperate launcher and I have to download something else releated to the preload.

Or is it done after this and I just have to wait 12h from now till the game releases?

There will be another patch before / at 12hr.
Then steam will do its thing and you can hop in.

after you pre-loaded what happens is that the time goes slower and slower till it almost stops and this day is the longest day of your live. Then the game launches and time is back to normal

Its 83 GB so I hope there isn't another similar download lol Anyway, I fully expect chaos for the first few days as everything is overwhelmed.

Youre good if you've fully downloaded and your play button is grayed out.

Wouldn't it be better to have the standalone client? Since they can already have the game open and fiddle with graphics settings etc. and queue up faster than the steam people can,

well poe 1 didnt have an seperate launcher if you started via steam, so i doubt poe2 will have a seperate launcher if you start from steam.

as others have stated: you will download a smaller patch and steam will then decrypt and check your files and you will be able to start the game and most likely you will face an login que of like 30-60min cause of the massive amount of player wanting to enter.

Doesnt matter. Theyre patching and resetting on launch and have even stated that. Waste your time in queue all you want, lol.
