That's odd, I was able to preload on steam, but when I go to look at the files, it shows nothing in the POE folder. Steam > Steamapps > common > Path of Exile 2 (folder empty).

Do the files not show up on preload?? Just odd.

Yeah they're encrypted in some temp folder, Steam will unpack them to the real folder on launch

preloads are encrypted and kept in another folder.

They are using the encrypted preload that steam offers. There will be an unpack tomorrow. (make sure to have another 84gb free or else it will take forever to unpack)

4K textures take up a ton of space. It's not really surprising that the game is so large given the improvement in graphical quality from PoE.

Diablo 4 had an optional 4K texture pack that was 50GB. It seems like its baked into PoE 2.

steam will have to uncompress the compressed files, preload simply means you download the compressed files and will uncompress on release date
