Steam Early Access Client vs. Web based Client?
I know that we get to preload through the Web Based client today, but will the Steam Early Access Client be available 12-6-2024?

I don't want to install the web based client if there is a steam early access client that will be available tomorrow.

I could care less about preloading.

Yeah, steam tomorrow at release for sure. Preload maybe unlikely, but if you don't care, just wait.

Steam will 100% be available tomorrow. It just doesn't have preloading available today.

There's a good chance it will even be up for download before the servers are open. For PoE1 patches they take the servers down for the launch and allow downloads a few hours before launch.

Login servers probably gonna be cracked at release anyways, so sitting 5 hours in Queue with standalone or download the game of steam and also sit in Queue, probably not gonna change much.

Yeah, you're not wrong. I ain't sweatin' a preload tbh. Still, hope they have it together enough that it's not a catastrophe.

My preference is to play through steam so I will just wait until tomorrow.

Just download it and play on EGS until steam is up.

Web launcher vs Steam launcher, which will have better fps performance? Can't wait for comparisons.

Only villains play on EGS, and morons.

once steam is up, do you have to redownload it through steam or move files/folders around?

hi.. with poe1.. they are two different clients and dl's. you cannot move the stand alone client to a steam poe1 folder and run it. it will patch the entire game if tried.

with poe2 though it may be different. if you are planning to play on steam.. i would just wait for when it's available on steam. there will be so much traffic and server load issues anyway.. you more than likely won't miss the time invested.

all the best.

So, why post, why are we here?

No preload on any pc 3rd party launcher. 5pm pst tomorrow for steam.

I didn't know that the steam early access client would be available tomorrow.

If it was not going live when PoE2 early access is otherwise available through the web based client, then I would preload through the web based client now.
