Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2

There needs to be more ways to create extreme off-meta builds.
There needs to be more ways to create extreme off-meta builds. Where is the build diversity ffs?

I've seen tons of builds now running t16s. Chayula monk using bow. Gemling legionnaire mercenaries with quarterstaffs. Weird frost wall trampletoe titans. People are cooking. There's only half the amount of classes and weapon types in the game so far. Once there's twice as many options available, I have a feeling there's gonna be some crazy builds going on.

This sounds Interesting, Worth a look.
Additionally and maybe with a new season (Currency wipe and clean slate) we may get better currency that will help with said builds

Then you got more coming in EA with the other 6 classes and their weapons.
There is always going to be a meta, I don't care if it's the most hardcore of games or hello kitty island adventure. And people who want to "be the best" are going to be meta slaves. It is unavoidable, so complaining that there are meta builds is silly. The vast majority of people are not playing meta.
Hands down more variety at every stage, including T15, than any other game in genre, in history, for a few months after release. (not including indie games that didnt get an online community bc they didnt have official servers etc) It doesn't feel that way because its so hard to adjust your own build though.

Its true that there are a handful of common core strategies to builds though.
It also depends what you mean by off meta. Do you just mean builds that don't use the typical archetype that their class implies? Or do you mean builds that perform well, but aren't popular?

If it's the former, some of the most popular builds are that way already (like mercenary using quarterstaff). If it's the latter, then yeah, you just don't know about them unless you scour build sites looking for them, because they aren't popular. So most people don't even know they exist, otherwise they would be meta. Its all relative whether you think 12 is a lot, or too few.

Either way, like I said before, only half the available weapon types and classes and less than half the ascendancies are even in the game yet. So don't worry, there will definitely be many more in the future.

Yea this.

And there will be a LOT more build altering uniques coming for even more mix ups!
There's plenty of build variety.

I think the problem is you're looking for someone else to build something for you.

youre delusional af. this game rn has the classes all revolving around the same build. heralds, spark, and minion crap. there is some build diversity, but it mainly top tiers at those. you cant do other things without it. and gemling with staff is stat stackers, oooooo how many of those r there. exactly.

Agree it's not as good as it could be but it's still not bad and more build diversity will come; we only have a fraction of the weapon types, gems and classes/ascendancies right now.

Some people think of off-meta being a build that doesn't seem intended by the class's archetype. Thats why I threw in mercenary with quarterstaff. It is absolutely meta in the sense that it's a very popular build though, of course.

Other than that, you basically just mentioned the meta builds and said classes all revolve around those meta builds lol. Thats the point. They are meta. I'm saying there are plenty of builds that are off-meta. You can find em, they just aren't everywhere because they're off meta. They're doing t16s and pinnacle bosses. Stuff like frost wall/lightning bolt trampletoe, fire totems, perfect strikers... I saw a chayula monk with a bow crushing end game. No heralds, no sparks, no minions. You just gotta look for em and you'll find em. You're being delusional thinking the popular builds are the only builds, pointing out all the meta builds, and then calling me delusional as if those are the only builds capable of doing end game stuff lol like wtf.

There is. Its called brain. There are TONS of builds that could easily clear all content, but if your mindset is "clear it as fast as possible" you will be ALWAYS locked to only few choices (or one if they didnt fixed trampletoe yet).
Dude its EA. There aren't even axes and swords yet.

Its literally just released into EA.. lots of classes missing, lots of weapons missing..

There will be a lot more options when everything gets into the game..
