How I added my friend that I couldn't find in a search
Open the chat with the little thought bubble looking thing with the three dots.

Make sure Global tab is NOT grayed out.

Right click the Global tab and /global and a number will populate in the part where you type.

Make sure you and your friend are on the same /global number server by changing the global server number to match and hit enter. /global 2 for example.

Have your friend type anything in the chat so their name shows up in the your chat.

The right click their name and add them from the chat.

I bought the game for my friend and I tried everything I could think of or find with no luck, literally nothing worked. I really hope this helps people whom have had the same problem.
