Controller Support
Yall think playing on controller will feel pretty good and intuitive in menus and stuff?
I remember thinking it was okay in PoE, Wonder if its getting improved in PoE2

this video is about the console game and cross progression, it says nothing about playing on PC with a controller

Well it's the same controller interface either way. It wont change much on PC.

1. "Controller Support" is still not listed on the Steam page.
2. The devs didn't actually say there was going to be controller support on PC when early access releases. Typically when a much requested feature is going to be in a game at launch, a company will shout confirmation of said feature from the mountain tops. I cannot recall a single instance where something so begged for (years and years and years in this case) was not 10,000% explicitly confirmed to be in a game at its release this close to a release.

Why do they have to be so left-handed in the way they talk about it? Why can't they just say "Controller support on console AND PC" if that's the case. My gut says it's not coming at launch because they think that console money is worth shafting their original player base. Hope I'm wrong, but there's just something about the way the devs worded it in a recent console feature video that gives me a bad gut feeling: "I'm looking forward to converting everyone to controller when they're playing POE 2."

They've already confirmed that local co-op will be available on all platforms at launch, and in order to play local co-op on the PC you will have to use two controllers, and will be unable to mix controller and M+K.

Controller will be available on the PC on the 15th.

That makes me more hopeful, thanks. They really could squash this whole thing with a one sentence tweet...

PoE2 is being made with consoles in mind from the get go, controller support is 100% guaranteed. Which is why the beta is also on console as well as pc. Better controller support than PoE1 is for sure going to be there. Will it be there in early access? I would bet most likely, its already there after all, they would have to actively remove it for it not to be. Unless theres major bugs on the pc version for some reason that makes them temporarily remove it, it should be there.

I've used mods to play with a controller on POE1, it even had a nifty function that automatically highlighted items and let you select them sequentially rather than mimicking the mouse. But the gameplay just wasn't precise to justify it. Too much jank and missed attacks, and it wasn't because of a lack of effort or talent on the part of the modder. The mod was as good as humanly possible, the game itself just isn't conducive to controller play for many reasons.

Especially after playing Diablo 3 on PS4 and Switch, It's night and day difference. So I hope they copied Diablo 3's controller radial inventory system and ultra refined controller gameplay as much as they could get away with.
