2. No, 9 slots for both weapon sets + default attack for each set which can be supported by support gems, some items can give you skills which don't take up slots
3. Yes, gem cuttings allows you to make any active/supports skill of the same tier or lower
4. Only points from quests can be weapon set specific
5. Respec - yes, but each class have 2 starting points, ranger/huntress for example have 2 in south east
1. So, do auras turn off when I switch to another weapon type? Do pets and minions die after switching?
3. Seems like, it is possible to play either as 1 class (same weapons in the 2 slots) or as a dual class (different types of weapons). Are there class/weapon-neutral skills?
5. Do I need to start at 1 of the 2 default starting points even after a full respec? I wonder if it is possible to use the character just as a skin while making any build. In PoE1 I was forced to be a Str-based archer because I had to start from the Str node as a Marauder,
1. You have a resource called spirit that is used for auras, minions and some automation skills (like cast on crit or cast on stun), you can asign same aura for both weapon sets or same minions on both weapon sets, but you need have enought spirit on both weapons sets to do it.
3. All skills are class neutral, you can use all of them on all classes, but melle and bow/crossbow skills require you to have a certain weapon equipped while spells, auras, minions etc. can be used with any weapon.
5. No, your class start at certain point on tree, so the witch start close to minion/spell nodes on tree, while warrior start close to all melle weapon nodes. You can alweys travell to other part of tree but that will cost you a few points. But, there is another big thing to consider when you chose a class with is ascendancy that are a huge part of your class. Any class have 3 ascendancy, with is basicly an 2nd speciall tree that only this ascendancy have acess, that contain a few (on PoE 1 its 8-10), but very powerfull nodes. You may alweys create a witch, travell on tree to warior starting area so you have acess to melle staff, but you actually need find a way to make a melle build that will work with witch ascendancy. While in PoE 1, players do a lot of this kind of not obvious builds, like using a witch ascendancy that is for example by theme designed to minions, but players can do melle or spell caster build and it work, but it is often a lot harder to create builds like that and require having a better knowledge about a game.
Thank you for the clarifications. By the way, is it confirmed that any class can use any weapon? I have not seen any video with a Warrior carrying a bow etc.
It is confirmed.
