Since China's version of the game is very different.
Trading was a big part of POE1 so I'm assuming it'll be the same here.
But its a good way to make currency to support your builds.
There are no restrictions nor server select that gates you from a % of the population to trade with, unless you're playin' the Chinese version as the two don't mingle.
You'll dynamically switch to the servers of others to trade with them, if need be, and switch back.
That's why it's just called gateway and not realm or so.
Trading, chat, and grouping can be done across all regions. If you group with a Korean player and go to their instance, it will be in Korea, so you'll have latancy.
Often in PoE1 when people are making groups for end-game content they will post what region they're in, so people can know what kind of latency to expect when joining the group.
You can run into language barriers, players from other regions that don't speak English may want to trade with you. It's largely automated, the trade site automatically translates trade messages, and I've found that the majority of the players do speak English anyway.
Trading can be pretty important, there are Solo-Self-Found (SSF) only realms, and some people play those to enforce no-trading, PoE2 is likely to be even easier for SSF, but if you want to advance quickly, trading is the best. But it also tends to change the focus of the game quite a bit, because if you want to trade a lot the game becomes about farming currency as efficiently as possible, rather than farming what you personally need which is how SSF is played.
Great, that’s a relief. I was worried I’d never be able to trade with anyone English-speaking or would have to play with huge latency issues. Thank you!
Understood. Thanks for the insight!
Thanks, sounds great!
