Enemy scaling, like in diablo 4?
Is this like Diablo 4 where all enemys scale to your character level all the time? I was able to play with a lvl 60 friend with my lvl 2 char. Is this possible in POE 2?

My god man.
HE ASKED SPECIFICALLY ABOUT ENEMY SCALING, WHICH IS THE UNIVERSALLY UNDERSTOOD COMMON DEMONINATOR WHEN IT COMES TO DISCUSSING SCALING.

He wasn't asking whether your boat scaled with your trousers next to your pet crab soup underneath the newly renovated leaning tower of Pizza beneath the ever changing nights sky.

Ffs.

there is PARTY, PLAYER LEVEL, DOWNSCALING, so you can PLAY WITH YOUR FRIENDS.

Thats IT.

Everything else is an ITEM which PASSIVELY modifies the content.
NO content scales on the fly if you lose 20 levels dying over and over again, or gain 20 levels in a map.

Just stop.

this is why you were blocked. GG, have a nice day.

another incorrect assumption based on your predisposition to your own thought process. Try re-thinking about it and come back at a later time.

Your edit of "there is PARTY, PLAYER LEVEL, DOWNSCALING, so you can PLAY WITH YOUR FRIENDS.

yes.. that's exactly what I told him. did you even read the entire thread? no? go do it.

My take on how I want enemy scaling is for endless game modes like monster arenas or rogue-like dungeons or something like what Last Epoch has for their end-game. I do not want the entire game to have enemy scaling. I feel like players should be able to fight weak stuff if they desire. Also if enemy kept scaling up everywhere, you will never feel more powerful, though that's debatable. No idea what to expect from this game yet.

I think the map tier system with modifiers will be a good way to accomplish this. You will be able to scale up (or juice the maps as they say) as much as you are willing to try.

Having a map perma locked if you die however will be interesting to consider when scaling them up. I hope generating new routes will be easy.
Diablo 4 destroyed the endgame for me with its scaling. Doesnt mather if i kill more enemys, they just keep getting stronger and stronger

I agree. Scaling level of monster to player level is just.... terrible.

I'm looking forward to trying the new map features of POE2

If it's like POE1, there will be no level scaling. You can go back to low level areas and delete enemies.

POE1 has player level scaling to scale down to another so the lower level players get full XP. So you are HALF correct.

So level scaling done right, i'll take that lol
Theres some party downscaling to play together but not for enemies I think.

correct, enemy levels don't scale to your level. You can be max level, and play the first zone and they will be level 2.

You dont get it. We are talking about enemy scaling to your level. As in - you enter the zone and all enemies are your level, rares are your level+1, bosses are your level+2. Thats the scaling.

Maps doesnt scale, if you enter t1 map at lvl 1, its area lvl 68. If you enter t1 map at lvl100, its area lvl 68. Its zone with static enemy lvls.

Modifiers are not scaling either.

LOL YES I do get it. You are talking semantics. Either scaling to level or scaling to the map tier, doesnt freaking matter. The answer to the guys question is that you can turn it on or off being able to play with a friend at level 2. Turn it on and go play with your friend, he gets full XP and you are scaled to the content that he is playing. It's not that hard to figure out.

Maps scale to the tier.
You are wrong. Level scaling in videogame has a precise meaning and is not an arbitrary definition. Level scaling means that a player can explore any place in the world and never be underpowered nor overpowered.

This means that the enemies' strength scale with the player's strength (think Diablo 4, or Remnant 2). If the player needs to use some sort of item to visit a place that's stronger (tier), then it is NOT level scaling.

Nah it doesn't have it because its dumb as ♥♥♥♥. Imagine if the pigs outside town give you the same level of challenge no matter where you are in the power curve. LOL

One of the reasons Diablo 4 feels like ♥♥♥♥ to play.

Go read the opening statements again. You are incorrect on what you THINK we are talking about at this point in the discussion.

So there is upscaling in PoE2. Dunno if its everywhere, but i have noticed it in act 2. When main story branches and you can chose the order of 3 areas, finishing one automaticaly upscaled other 2 into my lvl. After beating second, the third scaled up again. It can upscale even 1 lvl above your lvl.
