Why is Sony PlayStation not a cross-platform with others (Steam, Epic, XWox)?

Why is Sony PlayStation not a cross-platform with others (Steam, Epic, XWox)? The question arose after linking to an existing account and as it turned out, I do not see PS progress + does not pick up progress and currency from existing platforms. Now I can not remove the PS link without completely deleting the account. I left it as is, maybe they will decide to separate the PS platform in the future.

That's a question for Sony, more than anything else.
Probably tied to Sony not getting money from those sales that were done on other platforms? - no clue, but could easily see that being the case.

I mean it is cross platform, mtx just isn't shared. I'm not sure how you'll see progress considering the game hasn't been released yet.

Your leveled character will still be able to be used, your stash In the free tabs will most likely be seen, you just will not have extra tabs or points to use.

Your stash tabs bought from other platforms is "remove only" on the Sony side of things.
You can still use stash tabs bought on other platforms, just not edit them.
I think it's like this because Sony dosen't like to share, prime example is how they ruined Helldivers 2 for thousands of people.. - Because they don't want to share.

It so happened that I started playing a pure client and later continued in Steam. I linked Steam to the main account and I can see everyone and everything. Due to circumstances, I decided to play on PS5 and linked the account to the main one = I can't see anyone or anything in the game. In my understanding, cross-platform = the ability to continue playing on different platforms (Win/Linux, PS, Xbox, iOS, Android, Nintendo), and not different launchers on PC. You can buy everything on PS, but everything remains only on PS, including progress. So the question arose: - Are they going to fix this in the future (I couldn't find the answer anywhere)? If you play only on PS, without other platforms, then good. But the PS platform, at the moment, remains isolated and without linking progress to other platforms. Of all similar games with a declared cross-platform = PoE is the only one that falls outside my understanding. It's good that it is on PS, but there should have been agreements and support.

Take a look at https://www.theverge.com/2021/5/3/22417560/sony-ps4-cross-play-confidential-documents-epic-games-agreements especially the parts about what happens if the partial playtime on Sony consoles exceeds the relative revenue.

Like it wouldn't be new to have to pay Sony for lost sales, maybe it's a way around it.
