Mild disappointment in PoE2 early access class options

I'm kind of upset that these developers also took up Blizzard and other games' desires to eradicate paladins/holy warriors/templars from their ARPG.

They haven't started off with one in EA based on the info on ascendant classes and part of me feels like they're falling into the trend of hating on the archetype.

I really just want to eradicate things with the light.

Keep an eye out for the shockwave support skill IF it's in PoE2 I always thought it looked like a cool Holy Pali type of support skill. We will just have to keep an eye out tomorrow for what drops.

It's coming and guess what, you don't have to pay a single cent to play that class unlike blizzard's game. They are adding 6 more classes all for free, while your blizzard gives you one class for 40-50$ OMEGALUL. Don't worry they are probably working on the next dlc with paladin and another 1 zone, garbage end game system for 40-50$ price. Go pay them instead, you deserve it.

I wanted to play a holy warrior as well, that being said it's early access, so I don't see the issue. It's just a matter of time

As others have said the Templar is coming and in the EA at some point, so fret not, I hear ya with wanting to fight with the light!

As established templar was an original class in PoE and it looks like GGG plan to add all of the original classes to PoE 2 before the full release so i'm sure the holy giraffe is coming.

I just wanted to add as someone who was at best a casual poe player just forget the idea of character skill trees. If you want to make a holy warrior at launch pick warrior and then have a look through the other weapon/support abilities and have a go at building one for yourself. Assuming your coming from D4 (which i haven't played so can't know for sure) your probably to used to having to follow meta just to keep up where as poe has always been more like "everything is op eventually so just find your favourite flavour of op and run with it". Meta stuff is mostly for those in the depths of endgame in poe so for a new/casual player i wouldn't worry about it.

There was a video where they said you could dual class. My assumption was that you could semi create your own build. Wouldn't it eventually be possible to do like Shield Warrior and then get monk abilities to simulate the paladin build? Just thinking out the box, haven't even gotten in to play yet.

Also I believe they said there's 6 more classes they're gonna have on release, that aren't in Early Access right now. Maybe we could cross our fingers for a paladin type class.

No, you can play any weapon archetype or skill on any ascendancy though so there's no need for dual-classing. Play Grim Dawn if that interests you.

Agreed. I wanted to play a shadow too. Also, the Merc using a xbow... I've always hated xbows, but at least the Ranger is still there....

Hopefully it'll be like POE1 where you can use whatever weapon you want. Well, that can be bad too since the majority of people use whatever meta weapon poeninja build's show.

Not seeing claw weapons or skills yet either :(

Yeah, I'm pretty letdown too. Spear, flail, sword, templar --lots missing sadly.

If you're unhappy with any aspect of the EA, you aren't a true fan and aren't needed in the POE2 community. Hard, but true facts, I'm afraid. It needs to be said.

I mean its NPC of yourself to assume a whole bunch of stuff when its in early access. You're literally assuming they are following blizzards trends when 6 of the classes aren't even in yet.
So you're the one behaving like an NPC here buddy. NPCs always assume the worst when they don't IMMEDIATELY get their way.

Have patience young padawan. You can play OG PoE if you need your Templar fix today. Otherwise hold your emotions at bay.

Are there actualy any real templar builds? I used him only as crit mage, never as some fantasy holy warrior.

i LOVED the POE1 Templar. I could build an auradin with him that would take a whole season of Rune Hunting on a Diablo 2 paladin.

That said, this is early access so think of it more as a beta. How many betas have you actually been in? I've been in a ton that have only had limited class options.

I agree. I really wanted at least one of the int/str types so there was one of each. Its an OCD thing for me because I want to play one stat type class at a time in order for instance.....war,witch,ranger,monk,duid/temp,then merc and when the other 6 come out it would be....maur,sorc,huntress,shadow,temp/druid, then duelist. something like that so it rotates through all the stat types. literally just my OCD lol

Most of the missing classes should be implemented before 1.0 which is way better than blizzards 1.0 5 classes, i'm just happy to be part of the pre 1.0 polish.
