POE2 free to plaY?

from what i know POe1 was in early access for YEARS and years. and u cant play POE2 without buying supporter pack to get access to the "early access" that will last for years. ?? so its not FREE to play like it says?

Is early access for 6 - 12 months, then it turns free to play when the game is actually fully released. The early access price also gets you the equivalent amount of currency in the in game store, so the deal is basically 'spend 30 dollars in microtransactions and we will also let you beta test this for us'

Early access for PoE 2 isn’t just a week or two, it’s more like a long road to the full release. You’ll need to pay for early access (with the bonus of some in-game currency) but once the game officially launches, it’s 100% free-to-play. So, for now, it's like getting a VIP pass before the doors open for everyone.

Weird bait post. It's free to play when it releases. It isn't released, it will be early access. Supporters get in for EA, simple. The buy in is way more than fair. You get access to the game for 30 bucks and also get exactly 30 bucks worth of premium currency. All of your poe1 stuff that's applicable carries over too. Don't wanna buy in? Farm cool stuff in PoE1 so when 2 drops you have cool stuff day one. The fact that we get dollar to dollar store credit and access to the EA is crazy good and everyone should applaud ggg

Pretty sure its released sometime in 2025, so early access could be anytime in 2025, if you like the game support the devs. its what 35$ for the cheap bundle

They had to do this so people would get hyped it's F2P but it's actually paywalled 6-12 month (or more), but yeah let's still tag it as free to play because it lures in people to pay instead of waiting. Scummy.

EA is basically a beta. POE1 also had supporter packs that you could buy to get into the beta, so it's not like this is anything new.
