POE 2 vs Diablo 4
Hi there,

How does this compare to Diablo 4? What is different?

I know POE 2 launches as early access but i wonder how much content it has at EA launch vs Diablo 4?

both POE 2 and Diablo 4 have 6 classes but which games has more bosses/missions/monsters?

Mobile games are more popular but it also doesn't mean mobile games are good. The vast majority of them are bad and designed for people who are braindead and don't want to waste time thinking.

PoE is not really mobile game even if it looks like one, ya know?

So lets compare.
Diablo 4 has a better story (alone the Story of the Add-On, even ending in a cliffhanger was worth the price for me).
It's easier to get in (I heard they changed this a bit in PoE 2, but the passive skilltree was unforgiveable, respec so expensive that it was often easier to make a new char, in D4 you pay at max a bit of gold) and much easier to get in again (at least in PoE you had to read build guides for two hours if you hadn't played for some months and want to play your old char which of course has the skill tree resettet and your equipment was with a bit of bad luck at least not optimal anymore. In worst case new build, new skill gems, new Equip). Call it casual friendly if you want, but it's imho an advantage of D4.

Therefore at least PoE 1 but with time surly also PoE 2 clearly wins in endgame, more to do, more fun. Sure you can farm some equip and season points in D4 but that's not really fun and also things like the pit get boring pretty fast. And while it it makes far less beginner friendly, PoE has the far superior mechanics to customize and build your character.
And of course an advantage of PoE is the price, D4 is a full price game and not a cheap one, especially with the Vessel of hatred addon.

Imho both are fun action ARPG's worth playing. I love Diablo since Part 1, for the story alone and the way Blizzard tells it. But I'm for example no season player so yes, the number of hours you can put in are surly limited this way. And in general I think season pass and the FOMO that comes with it, as just with the ingame shop are disgusting and a clear disadvantage of D4.

PoE has mechanic wise far more depth, allows so much more to do with your char and also is free to play, spending money is totally optional and most valuable thing you can buy for money (ignoring the early access acess right now) are stashs. That said, even PoE has it's FOMO mechanic, called supporter packs, there is NO WAY to buy older ones).

They are similar, both companies do not know how to do games for the players, adn eventually fail.

I have over 400 hours on Diablo 4 and i can admit without a doubt that POE2 is 10x better

Computer operates you.
And GGG milks money on early access.
As a person who very rarely leaves the apartment - house, I will say that take POE 2 and do not suffer, or Diablo 4 is not "Diablo", so I do not advise taking Diablo 4, but POE 2 is worth taking, there is 1000 times more content, and it will be better by structure! and yes, I advise all people who play POE and Diabolo to watch Sacred 1 part:bonfire2:

To be honest, Diablo 3 and 4 are really low.
For diablo 4, there is simply no fight.
Diablo die after 2.
Now let's call theses games : Poe-Like.

(And im a fan who play from Diablo 1. But Diablo is dead. From years.)
Thanks

They are referring to how the majority of players who still play Diablo are stay at home Dad's who complained so much that they made the game extremely easy to play. It's mostly people who came over from Diablo 3/Immortal and had their hand held the entire time.

I used to be a hardcore Diablo fan. I still played 4 just to check out the Story and I wasn't upset or disappointed by it, but the endgame content and everything else just felt extremely easy. Even Uber bosses and Uber items where dropping like flies, and that is supposed to be the hardest content they can muster. Nothing is rare or unique anymore, especially now with the hardcore push of chinese RMT bots.

Diablo has essentially died and become a crappy mobile game at this point that just copies PoE's seasons.

I am not reading everything here.
So, at best you watch the reveal video for PoE 2 from about two weeks ago, to get a good first look.
To the content and classes. Each class has three sup-classes you will skill into. Which all have there own small, skill tree. You will have over 120 skill points to spent when level 100.
The endgame is endless. You can "map" and/or do bosses.
There also is crafting, which actually plays an big role in the progression.

PoE2 early access is 80% of the final game, the endgame is basically 100% there. You already can sink houndreds of hours into the game.

Stockwerk 13 Dec 4, 2024 @ 9:49am
im sure i will be seeing the exact same people riding the hypetrain ride now in here

in 2 weeks crying on the forums "the gameplay is to slow", "WASD sucks, noone plays it", "there is no endgame", etc.
