Again only English, why not several languages
Large and complex game and only in one language... Subtitles alone are inadequate for me. Please more languages

Translation and localization isn't simple to implement. More than likely more languages will become available either during the Early access period or some time after that.

It would also help if you provided information on what language you are wanting them to localize the game for, there are about 7,100 languages that are considered "living" so specifying which one you'd like to see increases the chance that it might be added later.

For example if you spoke Ukrainian, but they added German, then it wouldn't actually resolve the issue for you.

If it ain't in latin, it ain't worth playing cos that's the only way to take in what can best be described as highest brow entertainment.

In all seriousness, what Cera said.. translations take time and cost money, which is something lot of developers seem unwilling to do when plain ol' english will do just fine as it's as close to universal language our planet will ever get.

The story of a game is lost when I'm 90% busy reading subtitles, which is a shame for such a great game. I think that putting a game to music isn't that much work compared to developing it. I would be happy if developers were involved In the future, as before, at least the 6 languages will be offered with sound output

My English is 30% to 50% good and it's not enough to enjoy a game

German is my Language

greetings

You're speaking English right now so I doubt it's a real problem

I'd say the chance is low. We don't even know if the engine supports it.

The Russians had a local version of poe1 which was allegedly planned to be ported (their local version merged with the global realm when their distributor ceased their support for poe1), but it became outdated so quickly that that never came to fruition.

Perhaps that gave them insights on how much hassle that is for a live service game with rapid development. Like what do you do if a voice artist in another language isn't available in time for new content with an old char? Recast and revoice everything of them? Recast for the new lines only? Delay the game?

You realize how many people from a lot of different countries feel exactly like you? If they had to translate every language for the game it would be an extreme and expensive undertaking.

That is why they focus on the languages that are most widely used. If the game is successful I don't see why they wouldn't translate the game into more languages in the future. So you'll either have to be patient or settle with the english that you do know for now. Because they wont translate it into German within the next 2 days.

Dude PoE is not some story driven CRPG with a ton of dialog- read the Item/skill descriptions and you are fine...

Alter, PoE ist kein Story getriebenes CRPG mit viel Dialog – lies die Gegenstands / Fähigkeitsbeschreibungen und alles ist in Ordnung.

It is a bit strange to have only one voice language in a game like this, as if AI translations don't exist. It is possible to auto-translate into other languages while maintaining the same voice, emotions, and ensuring that the translations use words that fit the game world - all for peanuts. I believe a single developer with access to the right game resources could setup AI automation process and produce all language packs within 2-3 weeks.
