I agree. Most streamers especially on twitch rarely offer anything useful or value enhancing to the underlying technical product that is the game been streamed. I get the main point is GGG leveraging these streamers as a loudspeaker to get the word out and more eyeballs on their upcoming game been showcased.
But having the paying customers of your game that already financially supported your game to also have to sit and stream/support some random streamer to further boost game overall viewership is essential using your paying customers as an additional tool to achieve advertising ends which is disgusting. Think about it, the aim of these twitch drop partnerships is only applicable for people already with EA in order to realise benefits of unlocking additional cosmetic rewards (at least during EA period).
So removing players who were gifted EA keys; there’s a good portion of your paying customers that are buying your game to support your ongoing development, but instead of automatically getting these cosmetics like rewards (not big deal for me), these paying customers are further leveraged as tools to achieve better game viewership on streaming platforms like social media companies selling its users as the product to it’s advertisers.
