This isn't like Lost Ark where you get bikinis and lots of skin and sexy outfits.
While I do agree with this to an extent, we are also talking about a game that sells hundreds of mtx armors that don't look practical at all...
One example of this is the recent twitch drop the "Hands of Xesht" Back attachment. It is literally 2 giant decaying hands attached to your back. But there are also other examples of this in the new supporter packs alone. Like for example the "king the faridun" pack with the detached limbs sewn on to your armor.
The real reason there are no skimpy armors is probably because it doesn't fit the aesthetic of the game.
Then again it all depends on your definition of skimpy. I've seen outfits that are pretty revealing.
Like Badtoast suggested there will be more feminine and revealing armour in PoE2 (midriff as in the belly, some shoulder and possibly, some moderate cleavage *gasp* based on 2D art). Especially compared to PoE1. :p
At least for some early robes. We see that Sorcerer and Witch so far seem to be following their concept art/ascendancy artwork. Sorceress having a more luxurious Noble/Exotic looking skimpish attire and witch having some partially revealing Goth attire combined with lower rags. Both may share the same armour models though in game we will see.
That said, it's really stupid/cartoonist I think this push to have chain mail bikinis everywhere or worse, basically nipple and pantie guards that somehow don't fall off with no straps like something out of a porn movie/video. Then if you call out this BS you're somehow in the wrong and stuck up lol. It's "fine" for more mindless action games/MMOs that don't take themselves or their setting seriously and the eye candy doesn't really hurt (much).
Not as fine for mature serious settings. There's been RPGs and games in the past I just couldn't bring myself to buying because of how overly skimpy women were in them that it completely broke immersion for me and made everything feel like a joke.
The way PoE2 is going about female art direction is classy while being more sensual in nature for the above classes. This makes sense for full magic users that use energy shields and little to no armour for defence. Not to mention the background of Sorceress probably being some highborn and the witch being well, a witch down on her luck thus more raggedy. :p
He does. The word Armour derives from ancient terminology about accentuating the female body, with the most popular armoured attire during the middle ages being Chain Mail Bikinis. Armour has evolved since then becoming even more revealing, heavily stunning enemy onlookers. Battles are won before they begin.
Please stop.
You could do so much interesting thing in the PoE style.
What does having anime profile picture have to do with having common sense?
