But like the first one there'll be a standard league that never changes, if that's more your style.
Actually the terms in poe are "leagues" instead of seasons and the eternal realm is "standard league".
oh that sounds good to me! thanks!
Eh, maybe it's not the game for me then. damn,
No worries, have a good day :).
I also disliked seasons at the start, but once you actually played the game normally and then try out your first season you may then judge it.
There is a reason 99% of players play leagues instead of standard in which your character is eternal, because it is simply better
If you condemn everything without even trying it, then you won't ever find a new game to play, you are just chasing your past unable to accept anything new
Leagues in Path of Exile 1 provided new content from the very first zone you're in all the way up to end-game, I can only assume PoE2 will do the same thing.
So while you're playing a new character at the start of each league on that league server, it's got brand new challenges/items/etc. from the start.
Any characters you've played in the past go to the "Standard" server after the league end and you can still play them. Most people use their Standard server characters to show off all the unique gear/items that they've obtained throughout the different leagues and some people collect old, unique, no longer obtainable gear/items/etc. from past leagues on Standard.
I can't really imagine them deviating from this model of content release in PoE2 since it's worked so well for them in the past, and it's nice to start a new character with all the new challenging content being readily accessible the moment you log into the game.
It's not 99%, some people play standard, I think I heard number 60% in leagues in some dev interview. League is FOMO mechanic bringing people back to the game.
