I hope this game isn't done in seasons.
Does anyone know if the game is just continuous or will it reset ur characters and make you start over?

You will never lose your character or items, if you want to play the new content every couple of months (when the leagues start) then you just create a new character and learn the new league mechanic. If you don't like it you can boot up your standard character and continue where you left off.

It's going to have seasonal/league-based content like the first one, yes.

But like the first one there'll be a standard league that never changes, if that's more your style.

It will be a seasonal game, and that's good. But like poe1 you will have the eternal realm if you're not a fan of starting over. The thing is you will not play the newest content from seasons on eternal, only changes to the core game.

Actually the terms in poe are "leagues" instead of seasons and the eternal realm is "standard league".

Path of Exile 2 will have leagues, similar to seasons in other games. These leagues introduce new mechanics, challenges, and rewards, but your characters are not permanently reset. When a league ends, your character is transferred to the standard league, where they continue to progress without losing anything.

Has there ever been any ARPG that resets you characters and forces you to restart?

This is an ARPG. Every ARPG has seasons to keep the game fresh and exciting with new league mechanics. If you don't like that then ARPG's are not for you.

Ahh thats cool, so i can keep playing my old stuff without the new content. But if i wanna try the new content, i gotta make a new character? I'd rather not start from the begining to try new stuff, but i guess i'd know the game better by then atleast.

This isn't an MMO. Seasons are the entire point of it.

Eh, maybe it's not the game for me then. damn,

It's 100% season based.

People need to stop condemning game concepts before they even played it.

I also disliked seasons at the start, but once you actually played the game normally and then try out your first season you may then judge it.

There is a reason 99% of players play leagues instead of standard in which your character is eternal, because it is simply better

If you condemn everything without even trying it, then you won't ever find a new game to play, you are just chasing your past unable to accept anything new

Leagues in Path of Exile 1 provided new content from the very first zone you're in all the way up to end-game, I can only assume PoE2 will do the same thing.

So while you're playing a new character at the start of each league on that league server, it's got brand new challenges/items/etc. from the start.

Any characters you've played in the past go to the "Standard" server after the league end and you can still play them. Most people use their Standard server characters to show off all the unique gear/items that they've obtained throughout the different leagues and some people collect old, unique, no longer obtainable gear/items/etc. from past leagues on Standard.

I can't really imagine them deviating from this model of content release in PoE2 since it's worked so well for them in the past, and it's nice to start a new character with all the new challenging content being readily accessible the moment you log into the game.

It's not 99%, some people play standard, I think I heard number 60% in leagues in some dev interview. League is FOMO mechanic bringing people back to the game.
