As far as I know, only 3 chapters are missing, and replaced with a hard version of chapter 1,2, and 3. We still have full end game, with only 1 asscendary missing from each class.
I'd hardly call that "half the content."
The chapters themselves are negligible. Nobody plays this game for the story, and just rush through straight to endgame.
Also, when they add it, or "release the game" everything in EA will go in a league of its own, and we start with a brand new cycle. It's a cycle game. Nothing to address.
of course i also feel theres gonna be some early patch there and there to fix and improve some stuff
I am mainly reffering to those 3 chapters as I stated. However your also technically wrong, as the game has only 6 of 12 classes, half the endgame content, half the story content, and 2/3 of the ascendencies. Which does in fact mean HALF the game will be there on EA.
But I'm fine with all of that, it's just those 3 chapters I'm bothered by, which is half the story and bosses, as I won't be able to go back down to level 30 and do it most likely once level 90 and it gets added.
Also, I didn't play much of POE 1, as I hate click to move games, I'm only interested in POE 2 because of WASD movement, so I'm not too knowledgable about how the "leagues" work.
In the reveal trailer they talked about it in detail and every endgame system.
Every new league we play through the full campaign again.
Because every new league will be a fresh reset for everyone. So you surely get to experience everything the game has to offer eventually.
PoE has 7 classes, so I don't see the unavailable 6 classes in PoE2 as cut content. Just new stuff that is planned to be added. It depends on how you look at it; you can be either right or wrong.
Half the story content = half the chapters.
What I'm curious about is how did you determine we are getting half of endgame content? What exactly is omitted from the endgame content? What I saw on their live stream was every single mechanic in PoE 1, integrated into the endgame content with just few things nobody wanted anyway cut away from it.
You won't need to go back down to level 30 since a new league will start, and you will climb up to the new chapters with new characters.
I guess I don't really understand this "league" system, are you saying the devs wipe all progression in this game occasionally?
A cycle usually lasts 3-4 months, and a new cycle is accompanied with new content.
Not wiped, just moved to a standard league.
No. After every league your characters will be stored in the Standart league of the game where the league mechanic is turned off again.
Some might call it the eternal realm.
You get to keep your items and progression but cannot partake in the league system anymore.
The half the endgame content was something stated by the developers in that interview video they posted after the long content preview video they did. Technically they said "about half". But we're arguing over semantics and something that honestly doesn't matter to me. I'm "purely" concerned with the 3 chapters. New classes and endgame content won't affect me in any way down the road.
I'll have to do some research on POE's "league" system, as thats what all of you seem to be talking about, but I have absolutely no clue what that is.
Thanks for all the info btw, im a noob.
Don't worry I felt the same way when I got introduced to poe
Ok... That makes a little sense. Weird system, but ok, I'm not really interested in some kind of stat-race or whatever. Just playing the game for fun after work and not worrying about whatever competitive league stuff that is. I just want to play forever on a character I like with the gear I get and not deal with resets or anything. I'm way too old for that kind of thing.
