In many situations the mainstream had no issue with it..
With that said, it is a "hard to master" type of game, if you play beyond the 60 hours mark and start wanting to achieve more than just having fun... if you wanna go min/max and go into endgame.. the vast majority of "casuals" mainstream players will either have been long gone before that or adopt into it with easy access to guides and so forth.
It does not really have any tactical layers either. Its not a complex game.
People that claim it is "hard" are most likely doing so because they wanna compare it to modern day Diablo games, but there are so many other Hack ´n slash games out there.
Hack ´n slash games have overall always been rather easy to play and simplistic in nature (gameplay wise) PoE does have a rather expansive skill system and give you so many options, its great in that way, but for the vast majority, they could easily take on the main game before endgame, without even a guide.
as someone who is new to poe 2 even i've played a numerous ARPG's before including some poe 1
not to mention its easier already in poe 2
They said somewhere they wanted it to be certified for Steam Deck for the official release, but not sure about Early Access.
Honestly, I think a better option there would be your portals are removed once you die. This means you can find another map, you can try again, while keeping dying properly punishing.
Getting a new map is better than bricking your atlas.
I only hear Streamers say this stuff. Even in Diablo 4 it takes a little while to understand where to go to do certain things to level and gear. It took me some time to really get into Master Working last Season.
Hell even back in the day on Mortal Kombat Deception Konquest Mode I had to look up a guide to find all Chest and stuff.
POE 2 is just a game. Play it. Learn it. Have your fun. Do not be intimidated because it's "POE"
On day 1 I recommend not looking up Guide stuff and just play and fail or succeed and figure things outs for yourself.
