But the consequence is all EA characters will be locked into their own league for ever. After 1.0 no new EA characters will be able to be made.

They also haven't confirmed or denied if that EA league will continue to receive updates. It most likely won't.

No, there will not be a wipe. We will do new leagues but none of your characters will be wiped, they will just go to a league called Early Access (so they will never be in Standard). In some cases characters in old leagues might be somewhat broken by balance changes though. After launch the "Early Access" characters will still exist.

Kinda limbo wipe, yes. All your characters, loot found, currency collected in EA is stuck in a limbo league that can't be used in standard league.

Most people will juggle between the standard (permanent which also store your after seasonal loot and currency and possible updates with seasonal content when they end) and seasonal leagues (temp, stuff move to standard after), and now one extra useless limbo league which I believe very very few will be bothered to revisit since it only have 3 acts and no updates anymore...

All of it will go with your EA character.

Simplification: Early access at the moment is a demo of the game and what's to come. You'll lose everything, just not micro transactions.

If it's in its own league, then it will still be there. It's just that it will be isolated from Standard and you can't use your EA stuff over there. The league will probably receive no updates either, so anything that was broken will stay unfixed. I think you will still be able to play with your EA characters, but the draw of the current league and the new features will likely make you drop it like Andy dropping Woody for Buzz Lightyear.

The stash tabs you purchased btw will still be there. You'll probably find them in PoE1 too - they're shared. Just the contents likely not.
