"Please note this key only unlocks the client in your library, it will not provide early access to your account" What is the meaning of this?

As the title says, can anyone explain what it means? Will I be able to play the early access on Steam on 6th Dec or not? It's confusing.

FYI, I purchased the 'Path of Exile 2 Early Access Supporter Pack' on Steam and redeemed the key from the Path of Exile site. PoE 2 is shown in my Steam client, but the message above worries me...

you got a key for the steam version on the poe website in your account. IF you give the key to a friend, he can use it to unlock the game on steam, BUT cant play it because he does not have the ea key to play it.

If you bought the pack you'll have access.

I think this message is because you can get keys for the Steam client, but not have a key on your actual PoE account.

Login to your PoE account on the site using your Steam login, and check under your account details to see if you have access:
https://www.pathofexile.com/my-account/early-access

You should also have coins from your pack purchase on your account, although it may take some time to sync.

Right, I am aware of that. But my concern is about the "not provide the early access to your account" part of the message

The complete message reads - "Please note this key only unlocks the client in your library, it will not provide early access to your account and should not be given away."

so "should not be given away" part already implies it won't work with OTHER accounts, but my question is why it won't allow the early access on MY account

Yeah the said message is from the same link you shared. Also, I did get the coins, but I am concerned about the "not provide the early access to your account" part of the message. Since Steam account is directly linked to my PoE account, it's one and the same account I think? I wonder if anyone else has that same message..

The way it works GGG enables the EA on your account and you get a steam key to play on steam if you want, but if you give that key to a friend he won't have the EA

Obviously that announcement is written by the same guy who writes the node descriptions in the skill tree.

You need to know the unlocking mechanics and the order in which these happen before flatly applying the logical message.

The Steam key gives you permission to download the game, not permission to play it.
You still need to link to your GGG account to play.
