Armour vs phys
Fire Ice Lightning = elemental
chaos = chaos and damage over time poisons
Also chaos normally bypasses energy shield
Do chaos immunity just means you need to go full into armour ele resists get high energy shield and just bypass anything chaos related which cuts out 1 out of 5 damage types
So next is getting enough damage mitigation VS your damage output to beat everything
Thats it in short but im sure some others might explain it better
Thanks.
All chaos damage ignores energy shield normally
Some nodes/keystones/items change this but overall best is either
Take no chaos damage or item/node that says it doesnt bypass shield or takes from mana first
Theres enough options in poe1 and feel like poe2 will also have loads of build options
Have that problem as well
Chaos deal double dommage to énergie shield
Bleed Apply only if your being hit in Life
So chaos inoculation make you immune to chaos poison
And if something bleed you, it mean, you dont have any ES left,
So you die
Chaos resistance was nice to have bonus in PoE1 when you were above 0% at end-game. You would be absolutely fine with 20% or 30% Chaos resistance at T15 maps and you could always use utility flasks to deal with some outlier situations.
Chaos resistance in PoE2 is pretty much the same as any other elemental resistance and you are expected to have it at 75% or higher when you are at end-game. Chaos damage is just another damage type that is common in the game and not having your resistance at 75% puts you in jeopardy. You can probably survive in white tier maps, level 1 through 5, with 40% or so as long as you have enough EHP but going higher will get you killed more and more often.
The Poison ailment does Chaos damage over time, it does not bypass ES.
The Bleed ailment does Physical damage over time. It cannot be inflicted on a character with ES... but, once your ES runs out, and the damage applies to your health you gain the ailment... and once you have the ailment it damages your health directly even if your ES recharges. Also, if the damage applies to your mana (because of Mind of Matter) you will not gain bleed -- the damage has to apply to your health to gain the ailment.
You guys are thinking of the PoE1 mechanics. PoE2 is different. :)
If you only have like 30 chaos res, volatile plants will do about 1.8k dmg at around tier 11, so basically oneshot.
This.
In Path of Exile 2, no damage channel bypasses Energy Shield fixing a lot of issues with it. However, the double damage to ES from Chaos Damage is very dangerous to ES heavy characters without Chaos Inoculation (CI). A bit better now with some chaos damage one shots late game being nerfed.
So practically a Chaos Inoculated character with high ES is immune to all Chaos Damage, Poison and never bleeds since they die anyways once they lose that single 1 life.
Outside of CI, in order to combat chaos damage you need to up your chaos resistance, unless you have a notable/capstone, item or ascendancy mechanic that uses something else like Armour for mitigating Chaos Damage.
Fixed for accuracy. There's a reason why evasion/ES is meta right now.
