A lot of content creators are doing interviews in the upcoming days, so maybe they will ask that question
Oh my mistake it was a currency exchange! not an item exchange.
"I don't think it's necessary right now so we're not doing it in early access at least , I'm interested in potentially trying something like that in the future I the currency exchange was like 90% of the problem yeah and so"
Those were the days of my life... (also quite realistic pre-Internet market depiction)
The big problem was the currency you would whisper 20 ppl or more before someone would trade, a lot of ppl would price fix too
The currency AH is great ,, ppl want that for items too
But, perhaps, this is exactly what the devs are afraid of: smart players becoming immensely rich in the matter of days
All online games have RMT on 3rd party website, in poe it's not a big problem in the 12 years that I've played
The AH in poe requires gold to trade that's account bound , you can still trade currency on the poe trade website , they've implemented the currency AH in poe1 with 3.25 back in July to test it and they are happy with it .
The currency drops from mobs and it's used for crafting so ppl trade it for gear too
