Yes... I'm a sucker too since I paid but it's partly due to 300 coins and I expect it to be on par with a good non f2p indie early access game.
IF you want in on early access then you either need to pay or have spent $500ish on their first game over the years its been around.
It should be noted that the 300 coins are nothing to ignore. Instead of buying cosmetics you can also buy in-game stash tabs which are VERY important, and every person playing the game seriously will most likely buy those anyway.
So the people paying for Early Access are basically just paying upfront for something they'd eventually get anyway. In that sense, they're playing the game early without paying extra. Because they'd spend the money anyway. And $30 is really nothing for a game of this caliber.
But then they don't get to play the game 6-12 months early. Yes they can do what you say: get the game for free and then buy $30 worth of currency. OR they buy $30 of currency NOW and play the game almost a whole year before official release.
And if they'd pay the 30 anyway, then its really a no brainer to do it now.
The problem is that all of these people asking these questions or complaining are tourists, they never seriously played PoE before
Cant be mad at them not wanting to throw money at a f2p game they dont know they will enjoy.
if they play it f2p and end up enjoying it those 30 dollars are not wasted, if they buy it now and dont enjoy it, then its wasted money
I personally dont understand why some people complain about having to pay 30 dollars, because the EA already looks like it has more content than the current diablo 4, but to each their own, let them wait until its f2p
