Edit: idk why the clown, i'm saying the truth, if you are casual you not gona make it, 99% of casuals are going to be filtered when first boss goes back full hp after they died.
You won't have to grind for skills, you can pick the ones you want. You will be grinding for items, and currency that allow you to craft your own.
PoE1 is free to play if you want to try it out. PoE2 will be quite a bit different, but a lot of the core concepts remain.
When PoE came out all we had was cutesy stuff like torchlight, relics like Titan quest and D2, and awful stuff like D3. Poe, for the time, was the real successor to Diablo 2. And it showed.
Now. PoE is well established, if this game is diff or requires that core audience to reboot? Well better have a damn good reason to do so or as past attempts at this like EverQuest 2 have shown, they won’t move over.
Also Diablo 4(get your tomatoes ready to throw) is great. IT is the true successor to D2, and we can essentially forget 3 ever happened. So that crowd(myself included, who is an early backer of PoE 1 who just got burnt out with direction the game went over time, should say too) already has a good game to scratch the itch.
So what does that leave us? Hype train riders, the morbidly curious passerbys, and those hardcore enough into the genre who play multiple titles at a time. And folks, I um, willing to wager that ain’t gonna be quite the numbers this game expects if think entirety of PoE’s playerbase gonna jump over.
Just my guess, but getting serious Deja vu thinking about this, again, look up why EQ2 flopped so hard. It is hard to get entrenched players to jump on mmo type games, even with the same franchise.
