But where do I put my chips in now?

Your kinda sorta attach them to yourself, and then attach support gems to the skill gems.

So you think the neural link is already there?
Hallow Nov 8, 2024 @ 6:10pm
Active gems have the sockets attached to themselves now, so each gem can be six linked, idk if there is a limit to the number of active gems.

Don't know if they're committing to it, but I also heard that they're going to implement a "only one of a support gem can be socketed" rule, meaning that if you place a multistrike support gem for one skill you can't place another one in another skill.

I didn't played any beta or alpha or whatever, but from what they showed, PoE 2 will be a lot different from the first one, and to be honest, I like it waaay more than what poe 1 has become, i don't like how end game is played, i prefer a more active way of playing.
So, let's hope that they stick to what they said and personally I hope I got it right and understood correctly

They are doing that. But it will once again make people speck into one skill. lol
They are just taking away build diversity by spreading thin your options.

let's be honest, even in PoE 1 the build diversity in end-game is quite thin, so... it's not that different.

Yea but here they are making it extremely obvious and deliberate.
And it's because all the skills will be 6 linked.
I just hope it has a lot of different support gems to link up with every skill.
Curently eyeing the Monky and the giant Bell skill similar to Diablo 3.
So i want to put these support gems on.
🔵Spell Echo -or- 🔴Multistrike,
🔵Spell Aoe -or- 🔴Melee Range
🔵Increased Spell -or- 🔴Melee Damage.
🔵🔴🟢Added elemental damage types.
🔴Faster Attack -or- 🔵Cast
Now you take the supports from that list that wasn't compatible with that skill and put it on another 6-linked Attack gem.
It will be such a pain to get used to.

consider it a challange instead of a limitation or a pain, I think that there is a lot to enjoy in PoE2

from my playtest this is true and it was ok. i didnt liked it but because it is way different from POE1 it wasnt too bad. but also not good.
