I'll said this through to the devs.
They suggested doing all the classics. Quitting the game and restarting. If there's still an issue, verifying the game files. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling and re-installing.
If that doesn't work, let us know again and we can look into it more.
The other thing that can help is sending through a log file, so the devs can't delicately go through your game.
To do this could you send the file called Player.log, which is here: C:\Users\{username}\AppData\LocalLow\Playside Studios\KILL KNIGHT
And drop it here[playside.zendesk.com]
- No PC parts have been changed since December. I did revert back to using my laptop's display vs my monitor prior to this time.
- I check for driver updates 1-2 times per month. I am checking again now just to be sure. Up-to-date after checking Windows Update, SupportAssist, and NVIDIA App, and Intel Graphics Command Center.
- I run every other game I play usually with setting maxed out and no issues.
- No previous issues crashes that I can recall. I confirmed on Steam Deck that I did opt into analytics.

Thanks again for looking into this issue for me!
The 572.70 is broken. You can easily google information about this driver's issue. NV tried to fix the black screen issue for their 50XX cards, but they broke 40XX instead. As far as I remember, this only happens, when you use a Display port cable.
I had the same problem with other games with this exactly driver.
