Divination Sword not Pulse Countering
Anyone else noticing that Divination seems to have a really hard time with the pulse counter? With the other swords I have no issue, but with Divination the Knight takes a huge step forward and it seems like half the time Knight just ends up standing inside the enemy or stepping under the enemy while it is airborne. Either way it feels 50/50 on whether or not I get pulse counter. I really like the sword, the extra ammo is nice and the active trigger's big swing deal huge damage but this issue with the pulse counter it costing me runs.

Is this a bug or a feature? Do I just need to git gud or go back to the Switftshade?

Hey so I also had this experience when I started using the Divination sword. However it's not a bug. it's just that you need to have at least 1 bar of sword charge to Pulse Counter

I definitely found it harder to counter with it, you have to start swinging earlier than the others. I'm ok with this since the counter window is maybe even too massive with other swords. It's too bad divination doesn't get any unique benefits for the counter itself though

I think he's saying that the forward movement of the attack makes it so he and the enemies whiff entirely instead of getting a counter - not that he's trying to trigger a Hyper Drive.

OP - yeah, it's hard to land counters with Divination. My recommendation would be to move opposite from the enemy when they start up their attack and try to counter later - the startup frames before the sword becomes active against normal enemies still seems to trigger the counter. My opinion is that the rest of the benefits of this sword are good enough that it doesn't warrant changing it to make counters easier.

Yea I wiff about half the time, so I basically just need to git gud with it. Thanks for the advice I will def keep at it. I'm sure I will get used to it soon.

A few times I have gone for hyper drive really early in a stage and I was confused as to why it wasn't working even when I got the counter so thanks for letting me know.
