Can't launch the game, Build.exe gets deleted

I am unable to launch the game at all, I was able to launch it just once and it crashed soon after. After that it told me that Build.exe was missing, I tried verifying the integrity of files and it would give a disk read error. I deleted the game and reinstalled it, after trying to launch it, Steam said that it contains a virus, and then Build.exe got deleted again. Any idea about what's going on with the game?

It isn't even getting to my AV software, it's Steam telling me that the game contains potentially unwanted software/virus.

Hi, I've seen errors like this in Steam when an antivirus has quarantined the .exe file - if you double check your antivirus's list of files that it's quarantined, does Build.exe show up there?

Yes , same problem here.
Windows 11 , build.exe file in threat quarantined.
To play the game you have to put in defender to ignore this file

How does someone do this with an individual game? Im having the same issues as OP. I dont run an antivirus program so even more confusing.

Nevermind, found it. For those still looking windows security > Virus and threat protection > protection history > Youll find the file in here and can ignore the threat, allowing you to play. Now mind you, this is the first time ive seen this alert from Steam. Maybe the devs do have something naughty in there. I doubt it, but a terrible look and should be priority #1 fix. Its a bad look.

Same here. Feeling hesitant about ignoring the virus threat so I'll request a refund for now and will keep monitoring discussions. Shame, the game looks quite fun

False alarm from defender, happens sometimes.

I'm not getting a virus warning but the game completely hard locks my entire system
and stays on a black screen and I have to reboot if I start up the game a second time.

Edit: Fixed my issue. Do not use the Fullscreen option for Display Mode, keep it on Borderless and it won't lock up.

Yes I was able to resolve the issue by allowing the file through the AV, but Windows Defender had an extremely small time window to even catch the alert, hence, why I thought it wasn't even getting to that point. Thank you for looking into it
