I have a habit of trying that since it can be optimal in some other twin stick games like Nidus, NeverAwake etc where you might want 360 control for movement + mouse aim
(Mouse + keyboard on 1280x720 external display)
Now I'm curious if input modes might be the issue here as well.

This is a known issue for when using both controller and mouse at the same time causing framerate issues, which we can take a look into but we can't currently promise a fix.
Specific weapons causing FPS drops isn't something we knew about, so we will take a look!
