Framerate issues on high end system?
Hey,
This game seems really fun but I'm getting drops to unplayable framerates on a 7800X3D + RTX 4080 system at 1080p when the game picks up the enemy count. The FPS goes so low that gsync doesnt help.

Is this a known rare issue? Are more recent nvidia drivers required? (I'm on 551.23). Also using dual monitors and tried swapping between fullscreen/borderless modes.

Update: this might be related to trying to play with Gamepad + Mouse simultaneously, I'm not getting this issue when playing with pure gamepad. I understand if the former isn't an intended control method but seems like a bug regardless

I have a habit of trying that since it can be optimal in some other twin stick games like Nidus, NeverAwake etc where you might want 360 control for movement + mouse aim

On Steam Deck I've had similar issues with specific weapons dropping FPS like crazy when firing them. Game runs perfectly fine (even with lots of enemies) but I can't fire Heavy Weapon 2 without the screen freezing up

(Mouse + keyboard on 1280x720 external display)

Now I'm curious if input modes might be the issue here as well.

Hey xaerock and [Alpha]-Omega-,

Thanks for playing KILL KNIGHT and sharing this with us.

This is a known issue for when using both controller and mouse at the same time causing framerate issues, which we can take a look into but we can't currently promise a fix.

Specific weapons causing FPS drops isn't something we knew about, so we will take a look!

Thank you and apologies for the inconvenience.

I get a severe lag when connecting a controller (1-2 fps) not trying to use it simultaneously with the mouse. Just connecting it. I'd this a known issue?

Update: I fixed it by changing controller settings in Steam Big Picture so that Steam translates the controller input to the game (as opposed to using game's native dualshock support). I have dualshock edge btw.
