Real gamers know how to play Kb&m AND controller and will use the best one for the game they're playing.
The only toxic thing I see is people like this blowing a simple 5 word screen out of proportion. Obviously the game was designed with controllers in mind and is just a “controller recommended” screen. You already know input mapping is coming but you keep making posts like these whining and calling things toxic while acting like the world revolves around you and your preferences
If not using a controller means I'm not a "rEaL gAMeR", then I certainly don't want to be one.
in my book a "real gamer" uses whatever the hell he wants, and let others use whatever the hell they want without throwing shame around.
Indeed, use the right tool for the job at hand.
Which no one needs or benefits from. These need to go away, not be encouraged.
That's just a weird way to turn things. My comments about input mapping have been letting people who ask know it is coming later, and not something to worry about getting left out of the demo, and forum search says this is the only post in the forum that even uses the word "toxic". I did build and share a couple Steam Input configs for people who might want to try different controls for comparison, and to fix some problematic control mistakes devs made in the demo, but that constructiveness hardly seems to warrant such personal attack.
Quite so. We don't need any more pressuring people to use one device or another. We're all capable of making our own choices about what plays well for us. I'll play pretty much any action game on controller, because I really don't like the feel of kbm (even besides how much kbm gaming hurts my hands/wrists, and really isn't a viable option for me anyway). These click-through screens are just foolish wastes of time, and only encourage input-choice toxicity and resentment, not serve a useful function that's worth players having to wait and click through it every game start, across a variety of games that often aren't even genuinely better on controller.
And we certainly don't need a dev escalating such a useless time-waster to weird gatekeeping.
You are wasting everybody's time, but that's probably the point.
Still if you find harder to play on controler you can always... getgud
