"Random" item trinkets
Hi!

So this one is funny. I've been struggling trying to complete extreme mode with each of the characters, and that's why I decided to try one "trick".

I thought that this could be quite useful to have a good item from the stard. And I took Arcane Candle trincket to have, as it said in the description, "random epic item". But the result of me pushing the idea of getting the item that I really wanted totaly failed.

While using Arcane Candle I restarted the run 30 times (yeah, I have some spare time for this). And ALL that I could get was either Handbell of Distraction (17 times) or Swift Glove (13 times). Nothing else.

Then I tried to do the same with the Coffin Sculpture trincket that "gives random rare item". I put the Virtuoso's Cookbook item as my goal, cause it's unique. And voila! During my attempts to get it I noticed that Coffin Sculpture doesn't give unique items, as it supposed to be.

But for the Arcane Candle trincket... I don't know, maybe I have to be insane enough to restart my run 100 times or more to get more valuable item. But it seems to me that desciption of this trincket should be changed, or you can just add this information into the items descriptions - which ones can't be obtained with this trincket. Because Shark's Teeth or Crawler's Watch aren't unique according to ingame Codex, but whatsoever I can't get them with the Arcane Candle.

Wish lucky dices and folds to everyone!

I just completed Extreme with every character. Vampire, Illusionist, and Undead Dweller had me pulling my hair out with at least 20 failed attempts each.

I had used Cosmic Petal (+1 Roll), Puppet (Items Cost -1), and Chrono Medallion (Activate End Turns at Start); and take a bunch of damage to start ensuring gold gains then hope to spiral out of control with gold/healing generating items.
Vampire I tried replacing Puppet with Shadow Tentacle (Activated Heal Start and End due to Chrono), I made it to the 28ish wave and got nuked.

My game changing discovery was Really Big Sword (Double Enemy Money Drops). With Cosmic Petal and Puppet I only needed 3 attempts max before I got a great starting shop and went on a rampage. I would usually reach Shop 1 with about 15 gold, then each consecutive Shop with about 45 gold. Snag a dozen 'broken' items and you'll wipe the late waves on turn 1 every time.

After using Really Big Sword for the 3 struggle-bus characters listed above, I breezed through each character to the right of them.

Good Hunting!

This has also been my experience going through each character so far.
Really Big Sword and Cosmic Petal are pretty much mandatory for Extreme. The game is just simply too frustrating behind all the RNG without them. If you can reach shop 3 the game is almost always a free win from there.

The third trinket truly doesn't even matter if you are playing a good hero. If you are playing an armor hero or otherwise useless character start with a companion.

Thank you very much for your comments!

I've already used Really Big Sword and I agree that this item is really awesome. Going to try it with Cosmic Petal and beat this regime for all characters! :steamhappy:
