Decent graphics and great Christmas vibe and decoration - though the story occurs in New Year's Eve so a little inconsistency with the game's name and other elements of the story, some of which are implied, but not explained..

A linear point and click story, it offers good scares and scary ambiance, though the scare scenes are hampered as they occur in almost complete darkness.

Could benefit from faster walking/running speeds, and UI could be better; i.e. fireworks activation and items pickup.

A little overpriced at full price, so I recommend getting it on sale. 7/10

JustTomcuk's games have always had an interesting grasp on me. While short, they have good stories, outstanding visuals and they usually always end on a sweet, (or bittersweet) ending. Every one of his games has a heartfelt message to them, this one being to check on your loved ones during Christmas and to not be a donkey. The little elf guy was hilarious and got me to jump one or two times, but this game isn't very scary at all. If anything, it has a tone of comedy to it.

The description says the game will take you about an hour to beat, but I guess I was fast because I got through it all in bang on 45 minutes. Considering the full price-point of this game is $7.39NZD, and you're getting barely an hour of gameplay, I'd have to say to wait for a sale, it's not worth spending almost $5USD on this.

There are a few minor nitpicks I have, like the fireworks and snow tanking my FPS considerably, the lighter not having a flame when you light it, and the typos, but as mentioned, they're all minor. This is a fun lil romp, perfect for a livestream or YouTube video!

Was a good game. With a pinch of love to the game could make it absolutely awesome and a perfect Christmas horror story. I really enjoyed the game though. It gave me a few chills quite a few times. Thanks for the good game.

The new year has begun, and 2024 is now here! But before the year started, I decided to play three more games. While it was still a festive game and no longer Christmas, I still wanted to play through a handful of games.

Christmas Nightmare puts you in the role of Connor, a man who only wants to relax with a beer and watch his favorite sports team on TV. He has a family, but they are nowhere to be found. However, something about this evening is extraordinary. He will be visited the evening before the new year, which will help him change his life forever. But, with this being a horror game, this isn’t going to be a joy-filled experience for him.

This was a lovely festive horror game with beautiful graphics and colorful scenery. A couple of jumpscares got me, and I found a few moments creepy. This game also had a charm with its translation and nice little story with a good message that all your choices are impactful, even the small ones. Although I enjoyed the game, one minor issue was that it took a couple tries to interact with items, specifically the fireworks. It would’ve also been nice to see some options to turn down the music volume, particularly for the end of the game, as it’s loud. Overall, Christmas Nightmare is a decent short horror game with good scares, story and visuals.

​This is a very nice little Christmas Horror Game, this developer is relatively new but his games are really growing on me. Can’t wait to see more :).

i really enjoyed this short lil horror game, it was creepy at times, an a few jumpscares got me lol and the ending was the best part. very good game, i would recommend playing this game! :)

And yet another horror walking simulator game by JustTomcuk developer. And it is also a very short game but it is a decent experience. It uses the proper Christmas theme of giving and forgiveness... the Christmas magic or so to speak!

Like their previous games, the scary moments are mostly the jump scares that you get at times. Atmosphere is unsettling at times but not creepy in itself.

The visuals are great, especially the Christmas lights outside. Audio is fine. Level design get's the job done while nothing exceptional since the game mostly occurs inside your house. The game supports perfectly UltraWide Screen monitor and offer a good FOV option as well!

Christmas Nightmare is a solid entry in the walking sim horror genre. It’s a short but effective experience, giving me one of my top five jumpscare screams of 2024, which is no small feat! I scream a lot!

The core story idea is interesting, though it could use a bit more fleshing out. I found it a little confusing that the game seems to take place during both Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Maybe this is a cultural misunderstanding, but it felt a bit strange.

The length is perfect for a Christmas-themed Twitch stream, especially if paired with one or two other short games. However, for the playtime, it does feel just a bit overpriced.

One of the more frustrating aspects was how dark the game is. I get that dim lighting is meant to add to the atmosphere, but when it feels like you’re staring at a black screen half the time, it’s a bit much. Horror games can be scary without sacrificing visibility - trust me!
