controllers don't work + proton error pops up (i'm on windows)

Title.
Tried both dual sense and xbox one controller, wireless, wired. Steam input, no steam input. Nothing works.
The proton compatibility pops up, even though i'm on windows and don't (can't) use proton here.
Funny thing is it works fine on steam deck.

Since it might be similar I just want to add that after selecting cloud play, Xbox controllers stop working, you can’t use it to select any items but you can still use it to quit xbplay.

This is on steam deck. I have to undock my steam deck and use the controls on that to select a game. Not sure if the controller will even work after that because it’s such a hassle I lost interest in trying. Seem to be able to use an Xbox controller just fine when actually streaming from an Xbox but not when using the cloud play.

I'm having the same issue.

I do have Proton installed, and I can select continue to still use XBPLAY, but the pop up seems to make the games laggy like they're running at a low frame rate.

I still have this issue. proton error pops up and i have no way to follow the instructions

same, controller no longer working, and proton error, im on windows

edit - got rid of the proton error by uninstalling and reinstalling, but the controllers still dont work

Edit 2 - Fixed it, turm off steam input for this title. works fine with the controller after that.

mine wasnt fix on uninstall, still has the proton error problem sadly

i dunno if its because i also own a steam deck and has xbplay installed on that

Help, I still has the proton error message. Which is weird because I already reinstalled and reset the app data. also installed on my laptop and still the same error.

if it helps, and i dunno if its a factor, but I first install the app on my steam deck
