Local Multiplayer?
Any local multiplayer with friends? Love cloudlands minigolf offline with friends and I think this would be a great addition :)

Using a single device?

Due to adjustement that might vary depending of the person as HTC VIVE require some specific adjustement depending many factor including glasses, head shape, vision and tons of other stuff.

It's not requiring as much as action than some other game to take your shot so it might be a valuable option indeed.

I really enjoyed multi in previous games and indeed, local multi could be great, specially using only one device.

Having a few friend having their VIVE but not sure all can set their own space or share their own space as it would require a decent one.

I must admit it could be fun!

Rich,

It's something we're looking at, but not planed for initial release. Right now at least, it doesn't seem fun asking the user to remove their headset and have a new user come on between every shot. A different game mode than regular pool might work for this though where the player makes multiple shots before handing over the headset.

We're hoping having strong online multiplayer and great AI will mitigate having a need for multiple users on one headset, but we'll definitely keep an eye on it.

Ah yeah I could see changing every shot could be annoying, works for minigolf as you do the entire hole before switching over. As for adjustments to headsets we found it easy, mirrored sound to speakers so we didn't need to bother with headphones and we didnt touch IPD, as we couldn't really tell the difference anyway, we just swapped and it took 5 seconds :)

Could player 1 be in vr and player 2 be on the monitor with keyboard and mouse?

What about if you have two computers and two Vives. Is there local co-op over LAN?

Why wouldn't you just play online at that point?

Because LAN connections typically have less delay. For example, with HordeZ, a LAN connection is delay free while playing online (even though we're in the same room) adds about a quarter second delay.

+1 on local multiplayer even though it might be annoying.

VR is in early adopter phase and content is limited. This a great game in terms of demonstrating the potential of VR. It is also a fantastic computer pool simulation. Most of my friends don't have VR yet. I have no interest in playing online with strangers (lame I know). The more local multi player games that are available help me show my circle of friends why they should take the plunge..as well as increase the overall number of folks that are able to experience it.

Thanks
Steve

Ive basically played on free mode and taken turns with friends, works fine you just have to pay attention to which balls go in

any news on local multiplayer? Changing the headset is not as annoying as you might think, the vr minigolf also has a local multiplayer where you have to change the headset after every hole and its still fun to play with "real life" friends

+1 for this! It's important to note that because the technology is so new (and so few people have it) I often have a ton of friends over who come over, and are interested in playing. Adding local multiplayer and spectator options gives the guys on the outside something to do, and definitely creates a more valuable experience.

Hey, it's great to see the renewed interest. It's going on the list of potential future updates!

As another person who plays cloudlands mini golf i would love this to have a local multiplayer . I have little to no problem swapping headset over after each shot.
