Please port goldium motherload to something that isn't flash now that flash is dead
I loved that game as a kid, and now that flash is dead, i can't or rather won't play it due to the huge cluster of security risks flash is.

I second this, a more modern version would be great for Goldium and open the door to some improvements that it honestly deserves. I'd love to see a better option for saving, the ability to change resolution and an esc key menu as opposed to it just closing the game entirely without so much as a confirmation prompt.

It's still a classic from the early days of internet gaming in my book, but it really needs some love as those archaic limitations are very punishing when every modern game conditions you to use esc as a pause button and the lack of borderless makes resizing all your windows each time you tab out a bit annoying. :2016bee:

what's the version that unlocks when you beat this game missing that was in goldium, I don't remember...
Super Motherload includes a standalone Flash Player with a copy of Goldium.

That's the problem, it's still flash which is long dead and a security risk.

Wrong. Flash content in a web browser is a security risk because it's a vector for malware. Which is why every browser that matters dropped support for it already.
A standalone player running an offline copy of a Flash game from a trusted source is not a security risk and never was.

Goldium still needs a new executable either way as the current one lacks optimisations for non 4:3 displays.

also flying Mpper has technical issues that cause the steam client to be unable to tell if the game is running or not.

Flash was a security risk as a browser plugin because malicious code in a website could use the plugin to execute itself without user input if flash was set to run automatically. Aside from the fact that most browsers default security setting towards the end of the flash era already blocked flash unless you explicitly allowed the app the risks were minimal without user error. The emulator included for goldium is completely different thing it's a standalone executable. it does not hook your web browser or run any background code so there is no real available attack vector

Agreed. At least port it to unity engine for instance or any other engine so we can customize any visuals/alterations at least. As wide as we want, run on directX/vulcan, and so on. Hopefully vulcan as i can then play it no sweat on my steam deck xD
