How to destroy steel plates

Hey I was playing for a while and got stuck a bit and was wondering on how I should destroy steel plates. I'm currently at the delta platform and at the very bottom theres a row of steel plates and I was wondering on how I should be able to get through.

Use electron bombs to weaken them and then you can drill through them, alternatively you could save $25,000,000 and buy a special to be able to drill through them.

Just one to weaken then they go into a molten-like state where you can drill through them, taking damage, or use C4, T-Bombs or Shaft-Bombs to destroy them - the area of effect is 8 squares around the mining vessel

Ah sorry, I didn't mean the white steel ones. I meant the Yellow/Black plated ones. I'm guessing you can't destroy those?
