Rune stone translation
Has anyone been able to translate the runes on any of the rune stones? I can usually do it without too much trouble, but I may be getting thrown off if the words aren't in English (my Swedish is pretty rusty). As it is, I can't even tell if they have a translation, or if they're simply decorative.

I've heard hints that they actually say something but I can't give a definitive yes

The runes seem to be from different alphabets and some even look upside-down or mirrored. Others do not look like runes at all. So I think if there is a message behind them it is very well hidden.

I had thought for a while that finding out the translation was necessary to advance. I wrote all the runes down and went online. Like Fort said, it would appear that some of the runes are legitimate (The up arrow is "t", the one that looks like a crooked "s" is apparently an "i" with an umlaut over it, etc.) However, a number of symbols don't seem to correspond to any particular futhark that I can see. If you google "rune alphabet", a number of the initial results are helpful, including the wikipedia page on runes.

It looks like the runes on the tablet may have just been for effect, to draw attention.
