Controller issue (?)/Player 2

This issue only came up today. Usually the game plays normally with the controller I am using (a PS4 one via DS4Windows), but today my bindings were different. This alone is surmountable, but the other odd thing is co-op mode is somehow being enabled. On the world map, a message saying hit any button to join shows up (it did not show up previously). A second player keeps joining even though I am trying to play solo. I remove the second player, and then the prompt to join comes back. Any ideas?
