Will cuphead ever get a new update again?

My brother was playing the game since the DLC released and it's already been a lot of time since the last update (2 years ago)!

He asked me if there could be a new update very soon, i tried searching and i found nothing rather than a post from seven years ago...

So does anyone know what has happened with the developers of the game??? What are they doing now??? If yes, i would love knowing!!! Please tell me (i'm curious)
